No Child Grieves Alone

Who We Serve
We serve children ages 5 through young adulthood, along with their parents, guardians, and caregivers. Families come to Valerie's House after the death of a parent, sibling, primary caregiver, or other significant person in their life. We also support individuals and couples grieving pregnancy or infant loss.
There is no timeline for grief and no requirement to be in crisis to reach out. Whether a loss happened recently or years ago, if your family is looking for connection and support, we are here.
What Support Looks Like
At Valerie's House, support happens in community. Our programs bring together families who share similar experiences in a safe, welcoming environment. Groups are led by trained, trauma-informed facilitators who guide age-appropriate activities, creative expression, and peer discussion.
Valerie's House is not a therapy clinic. We offer peer-based grief support designed to help families feel less alone, build coping skills, and process grief at their own pace. When clinical counseling is needed, we help connect families with appropriate referrals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to common questions about our support, approach, and how to get started.
Yes. Safety is our top priority. All staff and volunteers receive specialized training in childhood grief and trauma-informed care, along with background checks.
That is okay. Reaching out does not commit you to anything. We are happy to answer questions, talk through concerns, and help you decide what feels right.
Grief does not follow a timeline. It changes as children grow and reach new developmental stages. Our support is open-ended, allowing families to attend as long as it is helpful.
No. Valerie's House is non-religious and welcomes families of all beliefs, cultures, and backgrounds.
That is okay. At Valerie's House, talking is never forced. Activities, art, play, and shared experiences help children express what they cannot yet put into words.
All Valerie's House programs are provided at no cost to families.
